The ICC Modbus Master Tool is a Microsoft Windows PC application (built on the .NET framework) that can be used to connect to a Modbus RTU or Modbus/TCP slave device in order to upload, download, verify, or log data values on the device. Register sets for a device are defined by user-created XML files. Each register definition contains an address, and optionally, a value, read function code, and write function code. These files are added to the software using the XML Manager utility which is built into the ICC Modbus Master Tool.
The ICC Modbus Master Tool is the perfect utility for those users who wish to do any of the following:
- Read or write data on any Modbus RTU or Modbus/TCP slave device
- Load preconfigured settings onto a device
- Verify if the settings have changed
- Backup and restore device parameters
- Copy multiple parameters from one device to many devices
- Log parameter values to a CSV file at a configurable sample rate
The ICC Modbus Master Tool supports all common Modbus types and function codes including:
- 01 - Read Coil Status
- 02 - Read Input Status
- 03 - Read Holding Registers
- 04 - Read Input Registers
- 05 - Force Single Coil
- 06 - Preset Single Register
- 15 - Force Multiple Coils
- 16 - Preset Multiple Registers
The application comes with three example XML files which can be found in the Example XML Files directory within the application’s installation directory. These files may serve as a template for all user-created XML files used by the ICC Modbus Master Tool.
The ICC Modbus Master Tool is compatible with Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7/8/10 on both 32-bit and 64-bit systems.
